With the firm support of the International Enterprise Singapore, Association of Banks in Singapore and the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce, SLA inaugurated the Singapore Registry of Accredited Multimodal Transport Operators (MTO Registry) on 6 April 1995.
It is a self-regulatory body which promotes the interest of the freight forwarding industry in Singapore as guided by the UNCTAD/ICC Rules for multimodal transport documents.
The Registry endorses the issuance of the FIATA Multimodal Transport Bill of Lading as one of its stringent membership criteria. The requirement gives sanction to the well established shipping document, which is based on internationally accepted and recognised terms and conditions. SLA members who wish to join the MTO Registry are invited to submit the application here.
Only Accredited Multimodal Transport Operator shall be issued will a registration certificate and be allowed to use the logo of the Registry. Bona fide Multimodal Transport Operators who are not Members of the Registry are not accorded the status of Accredited Multimodal Transport Operators.
The members of the Management Committee shall hold office for a period of two years from the date of their appointments unless otherwise decided by the SLA Council.
In all matters, the decision of the SLA Council shall be final and binding.
