Project Showcase - SMRT Buses Ltd: Artificial Intelligence (AI) Driven Bus Interchange
On 25 September 2020, the SLA team networked with Team SMRT Buses - Gali Batu Zone at the Choa Chu Kang Terminal Bus Interchange (CCKTBI). The team was heartened by their initiatives which set a positive impact on the community.
The aim of the AI Driven Bus Interchange is to reduce vehicular hazard in the workplace and enhance the safety of its commuters and staff. With such implementation, the following benefits have been achieved:
- Enhanced employees and commuter’s safety in CCKTBI
- Better safety performance in terms of vehicular accidents in CCKTBI
- Reduced Own Turf accident in the bus park
In addition, the Enhanced Happy Toilet leverages on Internet-of-Things technology and sensors to give real-time information to its staff and also gather feedback from the commuters. The functionalities include Air Quality Monitoring; Wetness Detection as well as Commuter Feedback.
Although smart technologies have been implemented, it was commendable that they have not overlooked the human touch point as the invaluable factors to commuter’s safety and satisfaction.
