Career Symposium at Zhenghua Secondary School

At the Career Symposium organized by Zhenghua Secondary School on 10 March 2021, SLA was represented by Ms Samantha Sim from International Freight Consultants (S) Pte Ltd, a member, and Mrs Chua Li Tzer - Deputy Director, Corporate Services and Human Capital Development. The students from Secondary 4 and 5 were gain insights into the bright job prospect in logistics and the academic routes they can pursue after their secondary education. 

Ms Sim shared about her career in logistics ever since she graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, majoring in logistics. While carving a niche in logistics industry, she pursued her Bachelor of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management with the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS).  The students were keen to know what are the day-to-day challenges faced by logisticians and the commensuration that could be achieved. Mrs Chua shared with the students on the internship opportunities in logistics companies. She encouraged them to join logistics companies for their polytechnic internships as that offer an experiential opportunity to understand the logistics industry better.

Ms Sim ended her sharing with an inspirational quote: “Don't be afraid to try something new. Maybe you will love it, maybe it will change your life. You will never know until you try!”
