Supply Chain Challenge (SCC++): Gearing up for 2021 Finals!

The SCC++ race is heating up!

Since its launch on 27 April 2021, we have received a total of 81 team registrations from ITE and the five local Polytechnics. After a round of rigorous judging, 15 teams were shortlisted for their innovative solutions for the five business cases given to them.

Representing SLA in the panel of judges were Mr Tan Eng Soon – SLA SCC++ Co-ordinator, and Mr Thomas Chee – General Manager of Winspec Logistics Pte Ltd, an SLA member company. Our well-rounded team of judges also included lecturers from Singapore University of Social Science (SUSS), Logistics and Supply Chain Management Programme, School of Business Dr Zahraei Seyed Mehdi and Dr Maria Cecilia Rojas Lopez.

The 15 semi-finalist teams presented their solutions to the five Mentor Companies. Each Mentor Company has selected the team that proposed a solution that most suit its business needs. The following five finalist teams are now attached to their respective companies for a 5-week mentorship stint to fine-tune their solutions:

Mentor Company:    CK Shipping Pte Ltd

Finalist Team:            B Team – Singapore Polytechnic

Mentor Company:    Germaxco Shipping Agencies Pte Ltd

Finalist Team:            Team JJGY – Nanyang Polytechnic

Mentor Company:    Global Airfreight International Pte Ltd

Finalist Team:            Fantastic Four – Singapore Polytechnic

Mentor Company:    Jacobson Global Logistics (Singapore) Pte Ltd

Finalist Team:            MCDD – Nanyang Polytechnic

Mentor Company:    Masindo Logistic Pte Ltd

Finalist Team:            Quirky Quartet – Singapore Polytechnic

The Finalist teams and their Mentor Companies are now gearing up for the SCC++ Finals that will take place on 23 July 2021. To enhance learning for the SCC++ participants, Singapore Logistics Association and GeoWorks, an industry centre operated by Singapore Land Authority, jointly organised a webinar on 25 June 2021 to provide an appreciation of the usage of OneMap in business case solutions. Thanks to GeoWorks, our Finalist Teams gained insights and access to another useful tool.
