Our Heartiest Congratulations to our 2021 TLA Graduates!

In view of the pandemic, TLA did not host its usual Graduation Ceremony for its graduates this year. Nevertheless, our TLA graduates for the Diploma in International Freight Management (Synchronous E-learning) and Diploma in Integrated Logistics Management (Synchronous E-learning), were all smiles when they received their certificates on 2nd December 2021. Held in TLA’s training venue, the graduates proudly posed with their Diploma Certificates and congratulatory props to commemorate their achievement!

The pandemic situation did not dampen the generosity of our sponsors, and the Academy was overwhelmed by the warm responses from SLA member-companies as well as our TLA lecturers, namely i2002 Logistics Pte Ltd and Dr Daniel Chew, for sponsoring the TLA Best Achiever Awards and Book Prizes.

The Academy is extremely delighted that the graduates have benefited so much from our two flagship diplomas. Here are some heartfelt words from past graduates!

“Upon hearing my interest to sign up for this course, some questioned, why anyone with relevant working experience of 14 years would care to attend this course. To be honest, I didn't really know what to expect. After reviewing the course modules and with the support of my company - Asian Worldwide Services Pte Ltd, I decided to go ahead with an open mind with the intention to attain new knowledge and skills.

I realised that many of us may be good in our day-to-day job or claim to have years of experience, but what happens when we are asked to take to take on new roles? Such as being tasked to guide new colleagues, who have no relevant experience in our field? Will we be able to put in words and explain confidently, the use of the B/L or the purpose of those long tiny clauses, at the back of B/L, if we were to be posted such questions?

However, through this course, I was able to better understand and to gain more insight into logistics industry. And with that said, I would like to encourage not just anyone who has newly joined the industry but also anyone who hold a senior or middle management position to take up this course, especially if you're looking to go to the next level. Aside from experience, I also believe that it is important to grow one's network. Hence, I would also like to thank TLA for creating the opportunity to meet new people and many new friendships.

Lastly, I would also like to thank my company, my bosses namely Mr Stephen and Ms Kath, for the opportunity and all the lecturers who have been encouraging and patient throughout the whole course. This may seem to be the end, but it is truly just the beginning!!”

“Due to Covid-19 pandemic, TLA’s on-site teaching migrated to online classes very quickly. It was new to most of us including lecturers. Although we were separated in different area, we gathered together by Zoom with a same goal – to achieve our academic pursuit on Diploma in Integrated Logistics Management (Synchronous e-learning).

I was quite apprehensive when I first attended my first training session with Mr Thomas Sim as our lecturer. It was about 10 years ago since I last had my formal studies, I was afraid that I could not catch up with the lesson, or could not get along well with my fellow classmates. But I was wrong, Mr Thomas SIm was so experienced as a lecturer. He created a conducive learning atmosphere during the training session. We were encouraged to answer questions and share our opinions. Everyone is participating in the discussion. I gained confidence gradually over the many modules. Thanks to Mr Stanley Lim for introducing me to take the course. I have wonderful memories and at last, my goal to attain a Diploma is achieved.”
