Yellow Ribbon Singapore Organises YR Connects: #BeyondSecondChances
SLA’s Chairman, Mr Dave Ng, and SLA’s CEO, Mr Oh Bee Lock had attended the inaugural YR Connects event organised by Yellow Ribbon Singapore (YRSG) on 1st April 2022. The key objective of the event was to engage trade associations and employers to share and understand their challenges and needs amidst the significant shifts in the employment landscape which have transformed tasks, skills and jobs.
Dr Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, Minister of State for Home Affairs and National Development was the Guest-of-Honour for the event, and he who spoke about the programs initiated by YRSG and Singapore Prisons to re-integrate ex-offenders back into the society. Professor Sumit Agarwal from the National University of Singapore had also presented his research findings on the positive impact and improved outcome of YRSG efforts in providing employment and re-integration assistance for ex-offenders. In addition, Mr. Jabez Koh and his team from Infinite Transport Pte Ltd, were also present to share their personal journeys transiting from prisons back to society and their company’s efforts in helping more than 30 other ex-offenders settle in their company.
