2022 FIATA HQ Meeting



The FIATA HQ Meeting is an annual members-only meeting to address organisational strategic priorities, as well as to update on the progress made on projects impacting the international freight forwarding community. The 2022 event titled “Reconnect” was held in hybrid mode from 17 to 20 May 2022 in Geneva, Switzerland. 

SLA was represented by council member, Mr Thomas Sim, who attended the meeting in his capacity as the Senior VP of FIATA.  Mr Sim highlighted that this year marked the change of office from the Immediate Past President, Mr Basil Pieterson to the new President Mr Ivan Petrov. In his opening address, Director General Dr Stéphane Graber welcomed members to Geneva which is FIATA’s new home while President Ivan Petrov addressed the participants on the relevance of the freight forwarding community, and the key role they play in the global supply chain.

This year’s meeting was also well attended by representatives from international organisations such as UNCITRAL, UNECE, WTO, UNCTAD, ITC, ILO, UNESCAP, ICC, IATA, IRU, UIC, ICHCA, TT Club, Change Horizon, TIACA, the World Bank, DCSA, and Global Shippers' Forum.
