Supply Chain Challenge++ Open house and GRT Learning Journey
Following the successful launch of the
SCC++ on 28 April 2022, the three participating mentor companies, namely
Germaxco Shipping Agencies Pte Ltd, Global Airfreight International Pte Ltd and
SFS Global Logistics Pte Ltd, were busy hosting students from the 5 local
polytechnics and ITE at their business premises. A total of 123 students physically
attended the Open House from 4 to 9 May 2022. The Open House was also part of
the Global Ready Talent (GRT) Learning Journey to allow the students – who are
also potential interns, to understand the company profile and businesses. They
gained on-site logistics operations that were ongoing during their visits. With
better understanding of the companies’ operations and core businesses as well as
their respective business cases, the students are in a better position to pitch
their solutions to the companies’ challenges.
Here are the Business Cases offered by the mentor companies in alignment with the 2022 SCC++ theme “Building Sustainable Supply Chains through ESG Initiatives”.
- Germaxco Shipping Agencies Pte Ltd – “Building a Scalable and Sustainable Warehouse”.
- Global Airfreight International Pte Ltd – “To embark on an overall company study and solution recommendation on ESG namely Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance. Students may choose aspects that they are interested in each category”.
- SFS Global Logistics Pte Ltd - “Manage Reusable Thermal Packaging Solution to Reduce Carbon Footprint”.
Logistics companies looking to nurturing young logistics talents, can
sign up for the Global Ready Talent (GRT) programme. The GRT programme is a good platform
to make your companies visible amongst the ready pool of interns from ITE,
Polytechnics and the Universities. Furthermore, your company can receive up to
70% funding support if you join the programme!
