Singapore Logistics Members Conduct Safety Time Out (STO)

In the month of May, the WSH Council and Singapore Logistics Association had jointly called on Singapore logistics members to conduct a Safety Time Out (STO) in view of the recent spate of fatal workplace accidents.

Not forgetting to take time to care for his employees’ safety and health, Mr Ken Ngan, Group CEO of CK Shipping(S) Pte Ltd, had conducted an STO with his safety officers and drivers in May, focusing on workplace safety management inspection and communications. Ken believes that having regular workplace safety inspections ensure the team’s well-being, and such engagements also allows him to gather employee feedback effectively.
With Singapore experiencing its hottest May day earlier this month, it is important for companies to ensure employees are coping well with the heat stress. In the month of May, Shalom International Movers Pte Ltd had joined the nation-wide STO in a series of ground-up engagements to remind employees to not only stay hydrated by distributing water, but to also share safety tips on the use of various equipment such as ladders, forklifts and tools.
Safety being the top priority for Sin Chew Woodpaq Pte Ltd, they have conducted their STO exercise to ensure that their employees understand the importance of safety requirements and practices. The team were able to exchange useful information to improve and maintain the safety aspects of their operation.
In addition, companies like Bok Seng Logistics Pte Ltd and CWT Pte Limited have also conducted their weekly STO in effort to promote the importance of keeping safety practices in check and uphold good WSH standards.
It’s still not too late to conduct your STO. Join us in this safety mission and work towards embracing zero harm at your workplace today!
