“This
India-Singapore training collaboration aims to enhance the skills training of
new age employment in India to be more industry relevant. The Logistics Academy
(TLA), a fully subsidiary arm of the Singapore Logistics Association (SLA) - a
national trade association for logistics industry, is excited to lend its
logistics expertise in this area of training partnership. Together with its
panel of industry practitioners, the Academy will impact not only the knowledge
but hands-on industry experiences to the Indian participants.”, shared Mr Thomas Sim, TLA Director and SLA Council
Member and Chairman, Human Capital Development Committee.
Mr.
Arun Vasu, Chairman of TT Group said,
TT Skill is an educational initiative of TT Group, it is in a way our
contribution towards the development logistics community, we wanted to focus on
the pain points where the skills are lacking right now. "One of the
pain points for the Indian logistics industry is the poor quality of knowledge.
We often learn more when we are on the job than in the classroom. There is a
curriculum and there are professors teaching it but the uniqueness of this
program is that the participants will have the opportunity to learn from
working with a freight forwarder or trucking company or an airline before they
are certified."
