Connecting ASEAN Countries to China's Western Provinces and Beyond

On 28 March 2023, Chongqing University (CQU), Singapore Logistics Association (SLA), Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG) jointly organised a seminar titled “#SGLogistics Goes International - Connecting ASEAN Countries to China's Western Provinces and Beyond” at EnterpriseSG premise.

Featuring a diverse group of speakers from CQU, EnterpriseSG, SLA, PIL Logistics Pte Ltd, PSA International, SLA and YCH Global Logistics Pte Ltd, the seminar aims to renew interests and refresh participants of the CCI- ILSTC as an alternative transport corridor that connects ASEAN markets to Chongqing. In addition, Chongqing can further serve as a logistics springboard westwards to other landlocked countries such as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. 

Mr Law Chung Ming, Executive Director of Enterprise Singapore (Transport & Logistics), warmly welcomed the attendees and shared his keynote speech, including his recent visit to Chongqing. The programme was followed by Mr Peter Lim, Second Deputy Chairman of SLA, who welcomed the attendees and sharing by Professor Yu Hui, School of Economics and Business Administration, Chongqing University and Mr Stanley Lim, Council Member and Chairman of the Internationalisation Committee of SLA.

21 participants from 18 companies and associations attended the seminar, and there was a mixture of participants from logistics companies and cargo owners/traders from the seafood and meat industries.
