Celebrating 20 Years of Second Chances with the Yellow Ribbon Project

On 30 April 2024, SLA participated in the 20th anniversary celebration of the Yellow Ribbon Project (YRP), which commemorates two decades of transformation and empowerment for inmates and ex-offenders. Held during the Singapore Prison Service-Yellow Ribbon Singapore (YRSG) Corporate Advance 2024, the event was graced by Mr K Shanmugam, Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law, and was themed "Forward Corrections: Beyond Second Chances". The celebration also included the launch of its first of three commemorative e-publications, "Yellow Ribbon: Our Journey of Second Chances".

At SLA, we are deeply inspired by the YRP's dedication to offer second chances and remain committed to support their initiatives. Since 2021, SLA and YRSG have collaborated to enhance the employability of inmates and ex-offenders within the logistics industry. This partnership has led to the development of a tailored training curriculum for a Certificate in Logistics Operations by The Logistics Academy, conducted within the Changi Prison Complex. We also worked closely with our member companies to promote employment opportunities for inmates who have completed these training courses.

To learn more about how you can employ ex-offenders and contribute to their journey of reintegration, please email [email protected].

Join us as we continue to support and embody the spirit of the Yellow Ribbon - offering each other a chance for a fresh start.
