Change of Secretariat Leadership

SLA welcomed Edwin Fong to our team as the Executive Director effective 1 March 2024.

Edwin steps into SLA bringing a wealth of experience from over two decades across both private and public sectors. He's all about empowering Singapore-based businesses to level up and stay ahead in our dynamic business world. With a 4.5-year tenure as the Executive Director at the Restaurant Association of Singapore, Edwin was responsible for overseeing the administration, developing the programmes and supporting its strategic plans.

His public sector journey, spanning over a decade, saw him contributing to landmark projects like the inaugural Youth Olympics Games in Singapore, crafting Logistics Industry Development and Productivity Plans in 2011-2012, and shaping Industry Transformation Maps in 2016-2017, not to mention supporting Singapore's ICT/digital sector's growth.

But that's not all - Edwin's got some business chops from his early days in the shipping and logistics sector, where he was at the helm of global and regional vessel operations for a major shipping firm, mastering the art of balancing profits and losses across networks in both Asia and Copenhagen.

Outside of work, Edwin's all about building lasting connections and making a positive impact wherever he goes. He cherishes quality time with his loved ones, often filled with travel, music and sports.
